AI Usage Policy

BongMilanti recognizes that AI tools are increasingly used to support research and writing. Limited and responsible use of AI is permitted, but every submission must remain the contributor’s original creative work.

Permitted Assistance

AI tools may be used to assist with:

  • Brainstorming ideas or possible topics.
  • Conducting preliminary research.
  • Organizing ideas or creating an outline.
  • Correcting spelling and grammar.
  • Improving sentence clarity.
  • Suggesting minor wording changes.
  • Proofreading a completed submission.

AI tools may not be used to:

  • Write the complete article, essay, story, poem or interview.
  • Generate substantial portions of the submitted work.
  • Replace the contributor’s original ideas, experiences or creative expression.
  • Invent quotations, interview responses, personal experiences or factual information.
  • Generate submitted illustrations, photographs, paintings or other artwork.
  • Present AI-generated content as entirely human-created work.

Mandatory Disclosure

Every submission must complete the mandatory AI disclosure.

  • If AI was used in any way, the contributor must briefly explain how it was used.
  • The disclosure should identify the type of assistance received, such as brainstorming, outlining, grammar correction or proofreading.
  • Using AI for a permitted purpose will not automatically disqualify a submission.
  • Providing false, incomplete or misleading information about AI use may result in rejection.
  • Undeclared, substantially AI-generated or entirely AI-generated content may be rejected without an opportunity for resubmission.
  • The contributor remains fully responsible for the originality, accuracy and authenticity of the submitted work.
